New XP-PAD:
Britax Römer has developed a new version of its XP-PAD, a shock-absorbing foam pad that covers the area of the security belt and protects the child´s neck and chest in case of collision. The XP-PAD was optimized to offer a better retraction of the seat belt, a better comfort for the child, an updated design, maintaining same safety behavior in case of frontal impact.

According to the tests realized by the manufacturer in 2019, this extra protection patented by Britax Römer diverts up to 30 % of the energy forces away from your child’s neck and prevents neck injuries by reducing the movement of the head. Moreover, it provides a comfortable cushioning to the chest when your child is restrained.

SecureGuard:
The SecureGuard helps to protect your child’s delicate abdominal area by adding an extra – a 4th – contact point to the 3-point seat belt. By keeping the lap belt in an optimal position over your child’s pelvic bones SecureGuard helps reduce abdominal forces in the event of a frontal collision by up to 35 %, and at the same time allows your child freedom of movement during the journey.


Advanced frontal and side impact protection:
The Britax Römer highback boosters protect your child in 3 ways: the seat shell provides head to hip protection for your child, especially in the event of a side impact; the upper and lower belt guides provide correct positioning of the seat belt; and the padded headrest provides safety and comfort for your child’s head and neck.
Plus, thanks to the SICT (Side impact Cushion Technology), the KIDFIX III S offers superior protection to your child in the event of a side collision. It reduces impact forces by minimizing the distance between the car and the car seat and deforms to absorb the energy before it reaches your little one. To benefit from the protection, simply adjust the SICT on the side of the car seat closest to the door.


Ergonomically optimized seating area:
To provide maximum comfort, even for taller children, the seating area is approximately 20% larger than similar models. The improved shape and extra-soft padding make for a comfortable and ergonomic seating position on longer journeys.


Easy adjustable, ergonomic headrest:
Our V-shaped headrest is designed especially for older children, when using the 3-point seat belt to secure them in the car seat. It can easily be adjusted to the correct position, just above your child’s shoulders, with one hand – even while they are sitting in the seat. Plus, the headrest is ergonomically designed to support your child’s head when they fall asleep.
As for the seating area, it was ergonomically optimized and is 12% larger than similar models.


Easy adjustable V-shaped backrest:
Designed to give optimum support to your growing child, the V-shaped backrest provides more space (8% larger than similar models) for their back and shoulders. It automatically adjusts to match the angle of the vehicle seat, providing a better fit and a comfortable position for your child.



Installation:

The KIDFIX III S offers flexible installation options enabling easy transfer and installation of the seat:

Belted with ISOFIX attachment: this child car seat has to be installed using the vehicle’s 3-point seat belt as well as the ISOFIX anchorage points in your car (check the vehicle list or FIT FINDER® on the product page).

Belted: this child car seat can be installed with the car´s 3-point seat belt. This option is handy if you will be transferring the car seat to different cars which may not all have ISOFIX anchorage points. Seat belt guides on the car seat will help you install the seat correctly.
