Product description Haglöfs Bivvy Reversible Junior Jacket

HAGLOFS brings you the new BIVVY REVERSIBLE JUNIOR hiking jacket , made of mini ripstop fabric combined with bluesing approved Pertex Quantum down insulation.

Its surfaces are treated with fluorocarbon-free DWR that optimize water and dirt repellency. It is an easy-to-dry garment with excellent handling and moisture distribution qualities.

It has two side pockets with zippers. Its cuffs and bottom hem are elastic for a better fit and comfort. It has a detachable hood with snap buttons. It is a reversible jacket of different colors and textures. For our younger outdoor enthusiasts - this is an insulated down jacket that´s warm, packable and reversible.

What´s more, the hood is removable, for extra versatility.

Made from sustainable materials, our junior Bivvy is a great option for chilly adventures and everyday expeditions alike.

FLOURCARBONFREE.

The durable water repellent action of our PFC-free DWR treatments comes from a hydrocarbon based, silicone based and/or wax based technology instead of fluorinated chemical.

Irrespective of the ‘active ingredient´, all PFC-free DWR treatments used are totally free from all perfluorinated chemicals (PFC) (of course including both perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)), free from other halogenated substances and free from alkylphenolethoxylates, including nonylphenolethoxylates.

The possible drawbacks are that the oil repellency and the durability of the PFC-free DWR treatments may be slightly lower than for a PFCcontaining option and therefore re-treatment for water repellency may be necessary at an earlier point in time.

In all, we use very good, environmentally friendly alternatives to PFC-containing DWR treatments.

Bluesign.

The bluesign® standard is an environmental scheme aimed at removing any substances that are potentially hazardous to human health or to the environment from the entire textile supply chain - from yarns, dyes, and additives, through to finished fabrics and trims.

A material that has been approved by the bluesign® standard ensures that its processing fulfils the following requirements:- The product itself is free from harmful chemicals in accordance to one of the most strict ‘restricted substance list´ ever published.

- The hazardous components in emissions to water, soil and air from the fabric processing has been minimized.

- Consumption of resources, such as electricity and water, have been monitored and reduced as much as possible.

- Workplace conditions have been approved in terms of occupational health and safety As a bluesign® member our goal is to gradually and continuously increase our use of bluesign® approved fabrics.

In that way we can guarantee safer products and a reduction of our environmental impact.

A Haglöfs product carrying the label bluesign® product is made from at least 90% bluesign® approved fabric and at least 30% bluesign® approved accessories.

HaglofsRecycle.

Recycled material = Post consumer material and production waste such as PET bottles, off-cuts and similar.

Recyclable material = material that can be used as base material for further recycling.

At Haglöfs, a product where 50% or more is made from recycled materials is referred to as recycled.

This percentage is common practice in the textile industy.

Increasing the recyclability of our garments is something we are continuously working on.

The actual percentage of recycled material for each of the different main materials, included in any product, will be presented on the care label.

Where does the material in a recycled Haglöfs garment come from? The recycling types (see table) that we use for Haglöfs garments is mainly primary and tertiary recycling.

As an example, the recycled materials in a garment can contain post consumer recycled (PCR) materials e.g.plastic bottles, worn garments etc or post industrial recycled materials (PIR) e.g.in-line spills from the textile manufacturing process or recycled yarns from the internal processes in mills.
